Download the Helmut Film Scanner app and you can then use your camera as a scanner. Put the negative on a bright surface such as a PC screen, tablet display or a light box and take a photo of it and then follow the app instructions.

The app also lets you edit the images using options like cropping, brightness, color contrast, sharpness and more. Whats more is that you can then share the images using Facebook, Drop Box, EyeEm and Flickr as the apps has these sharing options. If you are using and iPhone, then you can download the Photo JoJo that works in the same way. All you have to do is to use the flash to place enough light on the negatives and then view the results using Lomo Scanner.

Colour Identifier:
You can use the camera to locate specific colours that you may be interested in and assess how it will look on your walls. Dulux has come out with an app that lets you do this. Download the app and then take pictures of the walls in your home or your friend’s home and then let the app identify the colour of the paint that is one the walls. It magnifies a part of the images and then searches for similar results online and provides you with a platform to buy the paint.

Visual Searching:
The 3G Affordable Smartphone camera is turned into an automatic identifier using through the Google Search App. Place your camera in front of the object that you want to identify or get information about, Google then scans what the camera views and then searches online and brings up data that is related or similar. The app works on the iOS and can understand text or images queries. The same app can also be used as an OCR scanner, barcode or QR scanner, translate languages and solve Sudoku puzzles.

Creative Cameras:
Your camera cam captures two different points of view if it has a dual camera system using the DblCam app. The app activates both cameras at the same time so that you can get tow images at the same time resulting in some pretty awesome effects. Place the camera at angle and you can get images of whats in front of and behind you, on your left and right and below and above you. If you have an Android, then you can use the Double Shot Camera.
